This exquisite acoustic guitar was custom made for the woodnut by Lance McCollum. The soundboard (top) is made from highly figured Giant Sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum ); the sides and back are made from fiddleback California Claro Walnut (Juglans hindsii ). 12 different species of wood were used in the construction of this McCollum masterpiece. Lance not only created something beautiful to behold he created one of the most extraordinary sounding acoustic guitars this musician has ever had the pleasure of playing. I included a picture of Lance playing the guitar (M - #243) on June 6, 2004, the day he called me to come pick it up. A link to the McCollum website can be found on my "Links" page.

My dear friend Lance McCollum passed away on February 1, 2009. Lance touched the lives of many people in a very profound way. His memory lives on through the many musical instruments he created.
