The electric guitar pictured below was made using Marblecake English Walnut,
(Juglans regia) also known as English
or Circassian Walnut. The coloring in the wood is very rare occuring once
in maybe several thousand trees. The gunstock industry refers to these
rare markings as Marblecake considered the most valued gunstock
wood on the market today. Collectors have paid as high as $2,000 for a
single gunstock blank.
