Pictured below are recently milled California Bigleaf Maple slabs harvested from a tree that grew in Sacramento California. The slab on the left is the first slab milled from the log, known in the sawmill industry as the "Jacket Cut." The unusual coloring is called "Spalting." The dimensions are: 3 1/4" by 30" - 48" by over 8' in length.
